Brian & I are working out "No Time" by the Guess Who.
I have one question.
What is this "Killing Floor" thing that we just got no time for???

Having grown up in the age of hippies, flower power, and war protests, I should already know this.

A common reference in blues songs, the killing floor is a reference to the place in a slaughterhouse where the animals are killed -- a violent, nasty place.

Something a lot of young Winnepeggers had experience with as their first job.

I have the "official" music book for the song with the lyrics...it IS "killing floor". Nothing to live down, Brad.

I had a knee-jerk, very clever (IMHO) answer to that question. But we're not supposed to go there on the OFC.
See....restraint is an option.

WOW! That's some pretty cool info. Anyone ever notice how Jimmy's Double neck looks different from the production models today? The 6 string and 12 string tuning pegs are equally spaced, unlike todays where they are offset.

Some old blues lyrics refer to the killing floor.
RL Burside wrote about the time his father, brother and uncle were murdered all in a six months period in Chicago. The song is "hard times on the killing floor."
He was comparing living during that period to living in a slaughterhouse.
The guy sure had the blues. He never went back to chicago.

Something to do with a bloke who's first name is Louie, and his surname is Louie too? Just a thought...

The lyrics to 'Stairway to Heavan' mean the Robert Plant & Jimmy Page never have to work again unless they really feel like it.
