In steps Cliff and he offers me his Ultra 1515D 12 String. I have to say that this is absolutely one of the nicest things anyone has done for me. Today at about 12:37pm. I unboxed and unwrapped this jewel. She sure sings! Cliff you did a great packing job.She arrived safely with no mishap. You were right..Wrapped up like a Mummy!! It took me about 25 minutes to get all the shrink wrap and tape off her! Once I did I tuned her up and Played her for about a half hour. Since I'm at work, I figured I'd better stop and get back to work. Thanks Cliff. Your thoughtfulness and kindness is very much appreciated.

I can remember before the crisis hit that there were many times i wanted an ovation 6 to go with my 12. Now i'm happy just to have this 12 string to play. This board is made up of some pretty amazing people. I'm glad to be a part of the oFC family.

The people in my Graphics Department thought I was packaging something for the next Shuttle flight . . . . Sorry that it took so damn long to get it out to you, but whenever I had the TIME to search for a suitable shipping box, most guitar shops "didn't have any" or wouldn't part with 'em. I was finally able to coerce a local GC to give me a Fender acoustic box . . . Feel free to hang on to it for as long you may need it. I've got the s/b Legend-12 and the Pacemaker, so the Ultra was just kinda' gathering dust on the wall. Since the top finish was a bit "iffy", I had thoughts in the back of my mind of refinishing it in a "Pirate"-motif (for my 50th), but this came up and seemed like a more worthy and worthwhile "fate" for the guitar. So, it's YOURS for as long as you need it . . . I've had a few tough spells in my life as well. I've had friends help me out, and I've had friends not, so I know how both sides of the coin feel. Since I've stumbled into THIS place, I've made some good Friends that've entrusted me with some pretty amazing instruments. For that I'm very Thankful. So, if the opportunity presents itself for me t'do the same (albeit to a QUITE "lesser" extent), why the fuck not?? Besides . . . as somebody alluded to earlier in this thread: I could use all the GoodKarma I can GET!! ;) Hope it suits your needs, Steve . . .

It does play different from the 1858 i had to part with, but the change of strings made a tremendous difference. (I now remember why i started getting someone else to change the strings on the 12 string guitars i owned, whew.what a job). Funny story, I was playing last night and my wife asked me to please close the door. She said and i qoute "That guitar is so loud i can't hear the tv, could you please close your door.I swear, that guitars louder than the last one!" I found the remark funny an ddid what she sked. Then i thought,..mmm mid depth cutaway,..versus deep bowl non-cutaway..guess it does make a difference. It reminds me of my Glen Campbell 12 Ionce owned although this ines not a slot head. I seem to have misplaced my extra guitar strap and capo. Guess i'll throw that on my list to buy when i get a chance. Cliff, Thanks again... My fingers are sore and my heart is happy. You certainly deserve the Good Karma that will come your way.

The electronics are a bit dodgy . . . they WORK (or did), but I wouldn't/didn't gig with it. If you try it, you'll see what I mean. I'd recommend a Shubb TWELVE-STRING capo for it. Works well on that neck. ENJOY!!!

But could not afford one. So I loaned him my Ultra. That was 2 years ago and he stills has it. I do miss it but at least it is getting more play than if I had it here. But I do miss its action and thin neck. My 1777LX has higher action and a thick neck. Bill
