Joined: December 2006 Posts: 49 Location: japan | in the late of January this year, I special ordered a guitar viper with my own color. They said it will be delivered to japan whthin the late May. and today I saw a 2007 collector edition of Ovation. I am fascinated in the color of neck and nut. I called my seller and asked if i can change the color of neck and nut following the new model. He said he'll let me know tomorrow. May I ask what you, folks think about this? Do you think i can't change the color of them or not? I wonder what kind of process of the production is at this moment and i am afraid it will be regretted if i can't change the color...

I'm sure it's technically possible to build a Viper neck in 2-piece maple, but how much it costs and if the factory is willing to do it or not I think can only be answered by your dealer. Dave

And for the record, my typing skills are much better than my playing skills. Java - The neck difference you are talking about is not just a different color of paint. The neck on your Viper is probably mahogany 5-piece. This new neck is maple 2-piece. That's a BIG change. Dave

But if jazzjava is talking about the 07 Collector's (Bearclaw Elite) neck - this is a standard five piece LX neck in mahogany/maple with small center stripes. The only difference I see to the Viper neck is the smaller width of the stripes and the black headstock instead of walnut - and the black nut. Kurt EDIT: If jazzjava is talking about a CV68 Viper (Celebrity Series), than there is more of a difference: Missing Stripes, two piece neck with rosewood fingerboard.

However, it would be ok if i can't change the color because it is not the process of production. But I feel sorry that i can't change the color even though it is possible. I may call to dealer today again. And my guitar would be EA63. and I am fascinated the color of neck and nut of Model 2007-BCS thanks folks for various opinion...
