Ok, why don't you save me the trip to the Collings forum and decode that designation for me. :)

Stephen, I would beg to differ with you about this being a wide neck. As far as I am concerned, 1-3/4 is NORMAL, 1-11/16 is SKINNY and 1-7/8 is WIDE. That's a beautiful guitar.

Sorry, I was out polishing and then freezing....but somehow things were getting a bit messy

Concerning the wide neck....I am not sure what the D28VS neck is but it is DEFINITELY smaller than the Collings. It almost seems like a classical but plays so easily that even a Dm6 barred at the 3rd fret is a piece of cake.

D28VS is 1-3/4. A lot of Collings are 1-13/16, maybe that's what this one is. As long as you like it, that's what matters. Dave

Yup, just got done measuring and it is 1-13/16"....so almost a wide neck in the witkopedia universe! :p

Dave, when are you gonna be in the Springs again?
I think your gonna like this one (even compared to your super Collings!)

Tone report coming soon vs D28VS and EF75.

1-13/16 should be the same size as your Norman Blake. You still got that one?

Dave, still got it but to be honest, since the Taks, D28VS, Lowden and Collings it hasn't been out of the case for a while.

Guess I need to pull it out and compare necks.
