I try to build a guitar by my self, a kind of "EA-Viper", but with centre hole. I have a nearly unused neck from a 25 years anniversary and did not find a body for it, So I decided to build something by my own. A nice rosette from a CL, the herring bone one or from the original 25 anny would be great as well. So Guys, offers to me!! Bernie

I am using a ZOOM AC-2 pedal with my Adamas Viper for the acoustic output. The saddle is the standard Ovation OPP acoustic saddle but there is no onboard preamp. The signal direct to an amplifier is not as nice sounding as any of my regular O/A guitars with an onboard preamp. The ZOOM pedal has digital processing similar to the OpPro VIP preamps, and it sounds very nice. It sounds very much like my 1537 with the FET preamp. It doesn't quite have the full low end of the 2080 with the VIP preamp, but it is close. The digital modeling is very impressive with the ZOOM pedal. The Fishman Aura is probably the gold standard for such modeling but for my uses and budget I went with the ZOOM and am quite satisfied. The advantage of the Ellipse Aura system is you can install it in the guitar you are building. Edited by FlySig 2018-11-14 8:38 AM

I have an original Ovation bridge, I don't know in which guitar it was built in, but it has the hole for the cable so it must be from one with an thinline pick up. That is the I "must have" item. I have several preamps (IDEA, OP24, OP40) and unfortunately Isold a very new Opima to Detlef Michel a few weeks ago. That would have been my first choice now. The kidney-OP's are too thick to fit in slim body. Now I'll use the OP24. So Al, Guys, who has as thinline pickup for me? Bernie

That particular saddle is for a Nylon string "classical" guitar. But there are other CP-100's listed. ![]()

Need one with the radius for steel stings. Is John B. still working at the customer service center? Anybody has his current email address? I'll drop him a note. Bernie

Found a nice piece of swamp-ash, which is not very heavy and a maple top. I'll keep you posted when I'll start the project with a new thread in the general section, also with some pictures...
