I posted this in General Posting a few minutes ago before realizing there was a specific forum for electrics. I'm a little rusty, sorry...

Hello all. Long time member but haven't been here in a while.
I have a brown/tobacco sunburst Ultra GS-3 solidbody ("Hard Body" at the time they were marketed in 84, unfortunately). I also have a teal one, which seems to be the most common color in this S/S/H config. Does anyone know approx. how many of these sunbursts were produced? I've only seen one other, ever...on Miles' page. Just curious if it was a low number like a couple dozen, or if it was really several hundred but I just haven't run across them much.

Thanks.

a hundred or so. If I recall correctly those has solid wood bodies rather than the multi layer plywood, solid colors. it was available in all the GS and Basses

Interesting. I never thought about the sunburst ones being solid. I have a red one and I know there were plenty of those. I haven't looked at Miles' site in quite a while. Does your GS3 have the Kahler Flyer bridge?

Innerman, your's is only the 3rd one I have heard of. Actually, one of the 3 I have heard of, wasn't actually finished. I saw it at the factory in the early 2000's so that was a lifetime ago. Black, White, and Red seem to be the most popular and then Teal. Could just be my perspective, but I have seen very few teal ones. I would love to have a whole set (gs1, gs2 and gs3) along with a Bass in the sunburst. Mine has a fulcrum bridge, which it was a Kahler, but it's still a nice guitar.

It is in the guest room which, at the moment, is occupied by a sleeping guest. I will take and post pics later. I think it has same Kahler flyer tremelo as my teal one.

The sunburst does have the Kahler Flyer, and it is a one piece body. Nice memory Beal. Pics to follow...

The only Preacher with Viper pickups I have is one I got from Beal, and it can be seen on the Going To The Dogs album cover. I didn't know there was another, but it really doesn't surprise me. That is a great combination.

Actually I got it from Beal, kept it for awhile, then you bought it from me. Maybe 10-12 years ago? Anyway, I was only joking. Would never expect you to part with it.

Hello, Everyone,
I played a solid black one of these models that a friend had for sale here in Ottawa, ON., CANADA, a few years ago. It had a Kahler Flyer tremolo, which kept falling off when I was playing the guitar, but silly me later found out it just screws in place, eh? and the neck was very easy to play, much like a F***** Strat, I think? The pickup were very LOUD! It didn't have case, and the seller only wanted...$300.00 CDN for it! I would have bought it, but I was looking for the 1993 Collectors Series that I did eventually acquire. "Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda". "Regrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention",...
