Ok, I got something going on and don't know what. Hoping somebody here can shed some light on it.

I love my OFC guitar. It's got the best acoustic sound of any guitar I own and is a delight to play. But I've had problems with the electronics since I got it. At times, when I've plugged into the mono jack (the only one I use), it works fine and at other times, I just get every other string. I've replaced the preamp, the pickup, and the jacks.

Last Sunday, I took it to church, plugged it in (after testing it thru my amp at home where it worked perfectly), and once again, got every other string. Yesterday I took it back over, plugged it in (hell, maybe I had it plugged into the wrong jack), and it worked perfectly. Today, went over, plugged it in, and got every other string again. Same cable, same setup.

What was really strange was that when I plugged it into the stereo jack, I also got every other string, but it was the three other strings from when it was plugged into the mono jack.

I just plugged it into my amp here at home and it's perfect. It's not the battery.

You guys with serious gigging experience, what the hell's going on????

Paul,
Send it up to my house and I'll have it fixed by Summertime (or by the time you send me that neck you said you'd ship ;) ).

It sounds like you are failing to properly engage the stereo jack or a Mono-Jack issue.

Like, sticking a stereo jack, into a mono output?
So, why would the channels be reversed in the stereo output?
Paul, send the neck. This is wafting like extortion.

if I read/understood your post properly..........

Since it is the same cable and same setup but NOT the same amp, I would suspect a bad jack on the amp at the church.

Paul, that´s very strange. I don´t assume it´s an external equipment issue. You really exchanged the complete electronics (pickup + preamp box + pot + wiring + jacks) and the problem didn´t disappear? It sounds to me like a loose connection, so check all the solder joints for proper contact. Sometimes these joints have capillary cracks so you have to look very closely. Good luck.

Tonight I´m gonna play my OFC at Christmass mass. I really hope that the same thing won´t happen to me.

Checked mine last night. Ran it through two matching Acoustasonics with a Monster stereo Y cable. Everything works just fine. Also checked out the stereo set up on the wood topped Adamas prototype. Still working great. This is a really nice SSB. I wonder why it never went into production. Or did it, but with a graphite top?

Played at church last night and had no electronics problems with my OFC guitar. It played and sounded awesome! But I had to put the airlocks in to reduce the feedback problems I sometimes have with the monitor system.

Paul, could you solve your problem yet?

Sweet picture and the OFC guitar really looks nice against the black suit.

I've heard of this problem before with other stereo outputs.

Guys, I'm wondering if it's the cable I use at church. My next opportunity, I'm going to bring another over and try it.

I was going to try it on Monday while rehearsing for the midnite service, but on Sunday night came down with stomach flu and spent the night spewing. My Xmas dinner just consisted of a scrabled egg and piece of toast. Despite that, it was a wonderful Xmas with my wife and kids.

Hope you feel better soon. Use the nice Monster Cable that Al gave you with the OGC guitar. Dave
