around here. I love the camera angles and what Jose does with the tuners. Also, making the guitar "a drum" is kind of cool:

YouTube -- Bing Crosby and Jose Feliciano, circa 1968

I will never, ever to play that fast (or that good) in my lifetime!

What blows me away is the re-tuning on the fly. Man, takes me several minutes to do that!

Yeah, well when you're BLIND, I assume you get pretty good at tuning by ear.

Yeah, but do you see the way his strings are tied on at the bridge? Geez, looks like a blind man did it....

Would it help to poke my eyes out now, or is it too late?

I took a little time to check out some of his other videos and was amazed to discover just how good he was.(is?)

I was really impressed with his rendition of Malaguena. He is better with one hand and no vision than I am with both...

Yes, Vince, his playing is quite impressive.

Unfortunately, most people will only know him as the guy who did "Feliz Navidad".

...and "Light My Fire"

It's quite a shame that this is the first time I've seen this other playing style.

Really enjoyed that. I wonder if old Bing ever picked up a guitar? I think I remember pictures of Nat King Cole with one.

It took me a while to discover his other style, also.

I believe it was when I was looking at a YouTube of the "Chico and the Man" theme song that I discovered his version of "Malalengua".

I've always known he was a talented player, but that version just blew me away.

IMHO, the "Chico and the Man" theme is one of the best TV theme songs I've ever heard.

That is also one of my favorites. I think that era of TV had some awesome theme songs.

I attended one of his concerts back in the late 70's while I was in Australia. I remember being surprised by the variety of guitar playing he did. He was also funny, gave the audience the impression he was having a good time and he was very "entertaining". All in all an excellent show

Definitely! I met John a few years ago at a concert he did with David Grisman. He seems like a really nice guy.

It would be nice if he showed up at the Woodstock Guitar Invitational in October, which is the weekend of the OFC gathering I'm planning!
