| Joined: November 2004 Posts: 1374 | I now have my 1758 and I know the 1615 is not going to be played as much...(plus Char says I'm on a 1 in 1 out rule from now on.. :( ).. and I can fill the space on the wall with another flavor so.... if anyone has a nylon string USA Ovation A/E or a folklore that they would like to trade for a nice deep-bowl 12 fret slothead 12-string let me know. a straight trade or 1615 + $ towards a nice nylon/wideneck 6 is acceptable. would prefer deep or mid depth bowl, but I like trying new things so what you got? the 1615-4 is an 82 model in good condition, 3 finish cracks, top is flat, bridge is solid, neck/headstock in excellent condition no stress cracks at all on neck, brand new pickup, sounds, looks, and plays very good. I have $350 in the guitar including the new pickup.(sorry, no case but will provide a gig bag.) anyone interested? more pictures on request and as soon as I get my camera back from the daughter. Thanks, Glenn | ||

I could list this on the bay and probably get more $ wise for it (I hit the $300 BIN on it right after it listed.), but then I'd still be on the search for a replacement. and this way I know it will stay in the fold. I've got the 1616 a/e wide neck nylon that has some war wounds but, structurally, is fine and sounds great. Wasn't really looking for a 12 but check the WeaserP pic I've posted and let me know if there's any interest...

I'll ship it up if you're interested. the only classicals I get to play around here are mostly lower-end wood boxes at Howie's. I'm sure that one sounds and plays great. and it's the right shape. battle wounds don't bother me as long as it's cosmetics, and right now the 1758 is kinda intimidating because I'm afraid of that first OH $#!T! moment when I DO eventually ding it. I'll send you a complete set of pics tomorrow. Shannon's out with the camera again. anyway let me know. Thanks. Glenn

| Joined: November 2004 Posts: 1374 | The 1758 is absolutely fantastic, this is the 2nd I've owned and have never had a better playing 12 than these. as for the 1615 I have owned a couple of the 12 fret 12s(this one and a Glen Campbell) which now belong to others here. Great 12 strings all, I just prefer the Elite. the 1615s seem to appear for sale pretty regularly, and if I can pass this one on for a nice classical or folklore or country artist, and everyone's happy all the better. weaserp is considering a trial separation from the 1616, but it is his first Ovation, so if anyone has a classical style/folklore/CA for trade that is not so sentimentally attached let me know. we're probably gonna swap for a month or two to try new things but will probably be sending the 1616 back home after a while.
