Joined: February 2004 Posts: 80 Location: Tampa, FL | Nothing new in my search for one of these, so I'm once again hoping that someone has one for sale that I can afford. Just in case you feel like reiterating your love for yours, or rubbing it in and telling me that you'll never part with yours, or that it has to be pried from your cold dead hands, ya, I got it. As does eveyrone else who owns / owned / played / sniffed the soundhole / etc...etc...etc... And yes, they're as rare as hen's teeth. Yep, that's a real knee slapper. Haven't heard that one before either. Thanks for the heads up. In case you don't know the story or forgot it because it's been a while since I posted this same request, I owned one. But, I had to sell it to help my mom. Boo hoo for me I know. I won't mention to whom I sold it on this forum because it isn't appropriate, but it is what it is. So, I already know how wonderful they are, how they cost a fraction of what a similar guitar from another maker would cost, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah. Yep, my skills at getting you to sell me yours aren't convincing. I know. However, should you have one and you're thinking to yourself, self, I'm just not doing anything with this guitar and I could use some money to buy my kids/grandkids/neighbor's kids/great uncle's nephew's brother's sister-in-law's kids a GI Joe with the Kung-Fu grip, please contact me at mark.kellman@gmail.com If by chance you have one and you'd like to sell it to me for a significant premium over what it originally cost you (feel free to pontificate about the laws of supply and demand because I'd love to hear about the mystery of money and goods), as sick as it makes me say this, thanks but I'll continue to wait. Jaded? Me? Never. I'm simply basing my post on the replies/experience from my last post. And the post before that...and the post before that. Other than that, thanks for your time. I kind of feel like the guy who knew better not to do something, but didn't have a choice, then when I go back to a group of people I know, they tell me how stupid I was, that I really deserve to get one if ANYONE should get one, and then someone has one for sale at a "great new" price that is $XXX more than I paid the first time. You may as well stick a knife in my heart because it is too depressing. Hmmmm. Help my mom, or keep a guitar. Tough call I know. But, I don't question His intentions. Everything happens for a reason and after feeling like Sisyphus, I stopped trying to rationalize, justify, or simply understand why. That's when life became so much simpler, more meaningful and I have been truly blessed. If it doesn't happen this time, it will happen later. Hope I gave you a chuckle. It felt good to get that off my chest. :) That number again is mark.kellman@gmail.com. Operators are standing by. Regards, Mark

There have been two EF75s that sold over there in the last few months and there is another one for sale right now. Yes, unfortunately for a buyer, the price of these have been creepng upwards. Good luck. Dave

It was my first woodie in 30 years and probably the best introduction to Takamine possible. I don't recall the numbers, but my recollection is that something like 10% to 15% of the total world wide production went to members of this board, and for those that stayed in the US, the number was closer to 25%. Dave probably has a better feel for this based on all the work he's done on his EF75 wensite.

Hard times and difficult decisions are usually at the root. But as with any rare instrument, that ALSO happens to be one of the finest sounding OM's out there, prices will escalate over time. I can't think of too many braz rosewood guitars made in qty < 100 that you could pick up at fire sale prices. Dave

It came with a 6 wheel ATV with a crane on the back, mummy, and sarcophagus. My Christmas was complete. The newer small GI Joe action figures are pretty lame if you ask me.
