I'm looking on Ebay, Reverb, Craigslist (nationwide), Al's site and the OFC (of course) and all I can find are the ME models. Soooooo.......where have all those wonderful Adamas II 12 strings gone? And here's the real rub. I used to own a beautiful black, deep body 12er that sounded like angels singing. But I decided I should sell it at tax time and felt I'd just pick up another at a later date....ouch!

Having said that I stumbled on a red burst 1581 from 1983 and bought it for 1700 US dollars. By the time I paid shipping, duty and VAT it cost me £1400 to get it to the UK. Where do you live? If I spot anything I'll let you know.

You can no longer sell your Adamas 12 string with the view to picking another one up later. 6 strings are much more common, but will eventually become rare. I'd have to be really desperate to sell any Adamas.

It seems like the ME models are still relatively easy to grab. But the 12 string Adamas II models are rare birds to be sure. I'd love to see Carvin Guitars (or someone like them) purchase the tooling and rights to Adamas guitars. Bernie: I keep looking at your guitar collection. I'm not sure when I will be back visiting in Germany, but I'd sure love to stop in and check out that collection of yours! Wow!

Adamas by Peavey maybe? They're already in the composite market with CA. I'd rather see Hartley running things than the Fender XXXX-heads (pick whatever 4 letters you like)

Bowls, preamps, pickups, design elements, etc. I'd rather seem FMIC spin off or sell off the entire O/A operation to a new independent owner.

They make great guitars right here in America and they currently don't have much in the way of acoustic Guitars. They have only thinline models...which sound rather poor acoustically.

And if you miss the guitar you sold, Why not contact the buyer? Just ask politely if he would be interested on selling the guitar back, at least you tried. Even offer a bonus like more money or anything else.

Joined: August 2003 Posts: 888 Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | The Denver Craigslist is selling 2 Adamas guitars for $3500. So it could be a nice little bargain to buy both and sell the 6 string. Unfortunately, coming up with the $3500 is a rather long stretch for me. I emailed him and so far, he is not willing to separate the 2. Why???? I have no idea.

The title reads 6 string and 12 string ($3141). But that's not exactly what he means. The price has been changed from $3499 for both, to $3500 for the 12 string and $3141 for the 6 string. Definitely out of my price range now.
