Has anyone used the Fender G-Dec with an Ovation? I have an Elite and I am wondering if the two will work together.

These are really cool little amps. Keller has one and we were using it to play "Stump The Temp". Keep in mind that it's an electric guitar amp, not an acoustic guitar amp. Ovations will only sound so-so thru it. But for the cost, it would still be fun to use.

Agreeing with moody, I played my O thru my son's Fender 15R and it sounded OK, but nothing like it sounds through my Genz-Benz.

It's GREAT for "jamming" with!!
Just ask AL!!!
For a great part of the time we were at Stonge's house, Al had his eyes rolled back in his head while playing Keller's. The only way we could get him to stop was I had to go in and pull a "Terri Schiavo" on it . . .

Like Moody said, it's not like playing through an acoustic amp . . . more like a small electric amp (and the sound thereof). The "BandInABox" effects are WAY cool, tho . . .

(the only thing that it lacks though, is a "Smack the Drummer" Button).

I've been using one with my Ovations for a while now. Like was said before, it's not the same as playing thru a Genz Benz or another high quality acustic amp. It's not bad though. In fact the amp is "voiced" to be a "happy medium" between electric guitar and the bass/piano sound. I have read where the engineers at Fender tried it out with a normal electric guitar type speaker where the accompanying sounds sounded terrible, and with a speaker voiced for the accompanyment sounds the guitar sounded terrrible. The G-Dec speaker is somewhere in the middle. I often use the G-Dec with my Ovations as a simple background without even being plugged into it. This thing is addicting. It's hard to turn off...

Well I passed on the G-Dec and got a Dr. Rhythm Dr-3 by Boss. This seems to do what I want it to gives me drums and bass, I may even use it some Sunday morning in church.
Thanks for the help
Paul

I use a Pandora PX4 and either run the output through a Fender Bassman I have or through headphones.

You don't have to plug an acoustic guitar into a G Dec to have fun with it.

Huh, What fun is the G Dec without any guitar plugged into it? Moody continues to amaze all of us. Dave
