Location: Michigan | My 1115 pacemaker that has a pickup installed from the factory. The previous owner (Glenn) and the "O" folks decided to go retro and fit it with a pickup that is similar to the fd14 (I think) as to not drill too may holes in the shiney bowl. Anyway I have no volume control and would like to plug directly into our church sound system and have the ability to contol the tone, volume, and hopefully get something that will reduce the chance of feedback. I am new to all of this as playing in church is the first time I have ever really plugged in. My 1767 works flawless but then again it is a different system. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Location: East Tennessee | There several preamps that you can clip to your strap or belt that might work. L R Baggs and K & K are two that come to mind. It would be best to try some options at a local music store.
Also there are several foot pedal models. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Are you still interested in keeping the bowl virgin? I have a 1115 and I put an OpPro in it. I still need a rubber feedback buster in the soundhole on rare occasions, but I play in church with a full band and I have everything I ever need right at my fingertips. I installed a K&K pure western, but it doesn't communicate with the tuner as well as an under-saddle p/u. I may switch to a K&K fantaSTICK u/s p/u. |

I've seen EQ boxes and such. Definitely don't go chopping-up a Shiny Bowl. |

Location: Michigan | I think what I am looking for in would be a pedal box that I could set the vol, tone, etc and then turn off or mute with the pedal. When I play my legend at church I just turn the vol. down after a song. I dont want to leave it live while the rest of the service is going on if I can help it. I called Boss and they dont seem to have anything that fits the bill. I have seen the ones that fit on the belt but would prefer the pedal so I can just hit the mute and walk away and sit down in the congregation. Any ideas?? |

Schatten passive plug-in volume control
Martin used to do something similar called a VTC which was the same thing but had the addition of a concentric treble roll-off |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I also use the mute switch on a tuner pedal to shut down the signal chain during breaks and long pauses, then I remove the cable from the guitar and save the battery. |

"As stated, the Black Box will work with just about any modern pickup system on the market. That being said, some of the older under saddle pickup designs (specifically those that are made up of six small individual crystals in a strip and not fitted with a preamp) do not have sufficient output to be used with any passive volume control and are not recommended for use with the Black Box. "
My pickup has the six crystals in a strip ( I know this because I dropped it and had to look for an hour for the 6 crystals in the carpet). |

Location: East Tennessee | Does you pickup system have a battery preamp? If so you should have enough signal for one of those to work.
I just remembered I have one of those Martin V.T.C units Paul mentioned. I haven't tried in years I think I will find it and see how it works on my L.R. Baggs I-Beam and Para DI. |

Location: Scotland | Either the Black Box or the Martin VTC will work for you. They won't work with piezos without an onboard preamp, but will work with any active system. |
