The SCGC is just a little less, hard to put my finger on why but it just is, a Martin feels just a little too mass produced, finish is thicker, the little little details aren't paid attention to like Collings does. Goodall might be an option. I played a D once and it was real nice. For a good one in 42 dress you'll be looking in the 6-10K area and I think the Collings will hold the value the best of all of them, just my opinion. There's a guy, Kim Walker that is supposed to make real nice stuff and there are about 50 other hole in the wall guys, but you knoe this too. Try Kim Sherman at Cotten Music in Nashville, she might be able to help you find something nice. Joe at the Music Emporium in Lexington Mass is another option.

Not the OO you were looking for but a great D. There is also a web site for the CW models and I think there were only 9 s/b made so this is pretty rare. Worth a look.
