Brad, "distressed" doesn't cover it. Hasn't this one been around before? I seem to remember the pictures with one jack missing and some of the eppies torn off.

Hey, beauty is only skin deep (: It really IS a sad picture though. It does however look like it is still salvageable, that is if it was sent to the mothership for rework. If the cracks are only finish cracks, I would think they could easily (did I really say easily?) sand the top down, put on new epis, a fret job, new electronics and refinishing. I would think with the cost of the guitar you could put a total of about $800 into it and it would be fine. I'm not into project guitars right now, but who knows? if someone REALLY wants one of these they may be willing to go the extra mile and do it.

This guitar has been around. This is it's second time up by this seller.

If you look at the epaulet area where the eppi is missing, you'll also see that the top under the eppi is missing as well. I would guess that this guitar would need a whole new top as well as new electronics.

All the pics are reversed. The guitar looks lefty but it's not.

Thanks moody, I knew I had seen this one before. Still a sad example, but I guess there might be someone that would buy it. I think the pics were reversed the last time too.

Or for $200, couldn't you just have a great sounding beat up guitar?

Well, the seller ended it early with no bids. Was the 1537 ever made wih stereo electronics, or phono/xlr?

It's not my time right now but "wunna-these-daze" I'll find a 1537 to go with my Adamas knobs.

I bid on it Day 1, but he cancelled my bid and ended the auction when I asked a question about the wood of the top missing where the epaulets are absent. I never got a reply, either.

FWIW, I won't bid on it again if it shows up even with a lowered price and more accurate description. Sellers who don't respond to questions from bidders don't get my business.

Now I feel so much better. Nothing like catharsis...

Paul, wonder why he was shy about that, it's no big deal, everybody knows it's a used guitar..but, I guess some sellers get defensive rather quickly..maybe he'll re-list or better yet admit it to New Hartford for minor surgery...
