I am in the market but can't find any information anywhere on this description. AE does not list a model #. Any advice out there?

If it is really an Ultra, they are good guitars, but if it's a multi-soundhole, it could be anything like a Celebrity or Applause, which would be lesser guitars than the Ultra. I think the more recent Ultras also had solid wood tops.

I don't remember being overly impressed with the sound, but then again, I picked it up to experience the feel of the contour and probably wasn't paying attention. I do remember thinking that my 1778LX played much better.

I tried clicking on the 2178 from the Ovation site before I answered and it didn't show a picture. Bobbo's link worked fine, though. That's my story anyway. At least I had Brad thinking I knew something--for a minute. It was that Abe Lincoln thing.

But what reminded me of my Love of Ovations back in 2006 was an Ultra in a Music Store. It was Red, a multi-hole, non-contour bowl. I don't know what exact model or age. I didn't buy it cuz the guy wanted to charge me for a case! Which I though was sleazy. So I went to eBarf and got my 4861 (now long gone). Personal Opinion- if you have enough reward points you should get it. A guitar will last you longer than a airline ticket.
