Random quote: “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” -Plato

The guy behind this was interviewed on Bill Moyers Journal (PBS) the other night. His name is Mark Johnson. Naïve liberal idealist or visionary genius? Whatever. I admire the hell out of the guy. At face value he looks to be one of the most courageous and creative champions for the spirit of music that has come along in a while. I’ll be buying the DVD.

I would observe that like when we were kids learning math, we looked for the lowest common denominator. Relevence? Music itself is one of human nature's lowest common denominators. And in experiencing that, as in this video, we are struck by 1) how similar we are and 2)How important music can be in our lives, regardless of cultural, ethnic and national backgrounds. This is touching. Thanks

As a child, I had hopes of living in a peaceful and ideal world. Well, it wasn't too long before I realized that it was and is wishful thinking.

But this vid is so damned refreshing and contagious! It's a brilliant effort and I applaud the concept. The DVD is now on my Christmas list!

Now back to our normal scheduled programming...
