A good luthier will fix it, but it probably wouldn't be cheap. The mothership is always highly recommended on the board.
Lightest guage strings you can find? detune it? slack the strings off when you put it away? there's a lot of poundage on those 12 strings so it's always going to be a problem on a top thin enough to vibrate. I kinow it's heresy but it might be the one time that pins are better than a thru bridge.

If it is lifting it needs to be refastened. They could also refinish the top.

If you are really unhappy you should just sell it and pick up something new with warranty.

Solid body 12's are nice! I know of one for sale!

besides playability, I play Ovation & Adamas 12's because I don't have to worry about the guitar failing...

1 1968 shiny bowl
2 1658's
1 1659
2 6759's
1 Adamas I
1 Glen Campbell

I've owned 10-12 different Ovation and Adamas 12-strings and have never had a single problem with any of them. I keep them strung to tension, or 1/2 step low and keep them in a humidified room. I always use EXP lights. Never a single problem. Dave

The only way I have heard of or seen of an Ovation acoustic 12 having serious issues is when there is damage done to the instrument or when a damage issue goes unchecked and is left to gain momentum.
Damaged braces can lead to top warpage. I think this is an easy one to let go.
Guitars left leaning against a wall for extended periods of time will get warped or simply fall over eventually.
Lack of Humidity or exposure to heat will cause issues.
The biggest danger of Ebay buys is that you don't know where its been or how it was handled!

I prefer them hanging by their neck in a "People Comfortable" room!

I keep all my acoustic 12's tuned down a 1/2 step. This seems to take alot of stress off the neck. When I need to play in standard E, I just capo up 1 fret.

I kept my 1615 12 string tuned down to D for years. I finally got tired of losing those bottom 2 frets to the capo and I e-mailed Ovation. Their reply was to tune it to E and not worry about it. I did so and tweaked the truss rod a bit and it's been happy as a clam for 2 years now.

I bought my Pacemaker from Nashville here at OFC. He said he had always kept it tuned to concert pitch, and I have continued that without any problems.

Well, I dunno, I just picked up a 12 string from EBay and am returning it because the bridge is pulling up about a 1/16th of an inch. It is a Celebrity though, no a real O. The seller kinda hid that fact, advertising it as a '95, so I'm returning it. Bummer, it really sounds good.

Unless you get a Pacemaker or a Balladeer or a super deal, you're gonna pay $500 to $1,000 for a good US made Ovation 12-string. Course, if you are Nils, you get a Pacemaker from eBay for "free." Only one I know that made money from a UPS claim.

Don't "flame" me - nothing wrong with the Pacemaker, Balladeer or Elite...I just like the centerhole Glen Campbell and Custom Legend.

The Pacemaker is "The" understated bargain of 12 strings. They are plentiful, playable and easily overlooked!

You get your "Bang for the Buck" with them.
