It stinks to be selling Ovations right now, but it's a great time to be a buyer! :D I've been trying to snag one of these for over two years now. Hope it was worth the wait! :)

Nice Catch! I found one on E-Bay about a month ago for about $100 more, and I thought I got a steal. By the way, the picture on the e-Bay site doesn't do it justice.

Those are beautiful guitars. It's a little too close in looks to my Waterfal Bubinga 99 Collectors for it to be on my list, but as long as I only kept one out at a time, I might get away with it. Not! Nice grab.

Hiya Patsbro,

I've seen these beauties in person, and been wanting one ever since. I was actually hoping the short description and average pictures might keep the price down. I was still surprised, and my max was higher than I got it for. But, believe it or not, I ain't complainin' a bit! ;) :D

I haven't seen all the collectors Ovations, but that is one of the few that I really like!

Another one I really like is the Angel Step Walnut Elite that I got for my ex.

By the way, does anyone have any idea what the 1776-1976 Bicentennial model is worth?

Akami, depending on acoustic only or ac/el and condition, anywhere between 800 and 1200 on average for a 1776. Lately, not as good.

Patch, you did steal that one judging from where this one went. I was lookin...er lurking when it went past 610, I quit. And look what it went for.

Yeah, me too! I was watching both and missed the first one...my MAJOR bad, obviously.

Great deal, Patch, especially considering the competition.

Excellent buy. If you like a slim, fast, electric-style neck you'll love it. Mine is the easiest to play acoustic I have.

I picked it up yesterday. (Saved myself $50 shipping.) It's in perfect cosmetic shape, but took over an hour to set up.

Action was so high I had to remove all the shims. (Honestly, the previous owner must have fingers of steel to have played it for any length of time.) There was also a neck warp, a big one! You know what they say, use slight adjustments and check as you go. So 1/8 turns at a time, I had to give the truss rod a full 1 and 1/4 turns.

Then a nice polishing and new Elixir lights. Now she's a playing sweetly. Niiiiccee tone! :D The action is still a tad high to my liking, though not so much that I don't like it. Not much else I can do anyway, all the shims are gone already!

Here are my big questions, I took the bowl panel off and noticed that the inside of the soundboard has a finish! Is this normal? Also, I thought these were laminated tops, yet the inside of the soundboard has some beautiful figuring on it. What gives with that?

Still, she looks gorgeous and sounds gorgeous. I defy someone to find a better guitar for $610. :D

Depending on how things go, I might keep it or sell it sown the road. We'll see. I'd love a cobalt blue W-597, but I'm down to the 1-in-1-out rule now. ;)
