Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Temp, if you get a chance to watch a special about the new Alison Krauss Studio project "A 100 Miles or More" , Jerry Douglas is just awesome on dobro and lap steel...I watched it last night and immediatly thought of you...I thought, "now Temp could do that"...
It's an tremendous special...Krauss does duets with James Taylor, John Hyatt, and others... |

I friggin' wish! Jerry Douglas is on a different planet to just about every other lap-style player.
Sounds like a great show, is it going to be released on DVD or CD? |

Location: Cicero, NY | I heard that but taking a look at 100 Miles, it looks like he's singing (twice) on her album. So now I would ask is this a crossover project for her? If it's "typical" AKUS material that he appears on, I would say he DID venture into it.
Obviously haven't heard it - just askin'. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | The song they do (and it is one and the same John Waite) is "Lay Down Beside Me" written by Don Williams and is done as an answer to "Missing You"...It is Killa!!!
Alison has her won style and no matter what she is doing, it always shines through..."One Hundred Miles or More" is surely a trememdous album and I for one will try to get it asap! |

The album features Krauss’s collaboration with John Waite on the single, ⌠Missing You,■ which also appears on Waite’s recent Rounder release Downtown....Journey of a Heart. The video has received out of the box adds at CMT and GAC. Billboard Magazine writes of the song, ⌠┘vet Alison Krauss adds a newfound tenderness to the ironic lyric “I ain’t missing you at all/No matter what I say."
Her vulnerable vocals, as ever, add ache to the familiar track. A Hundred Miles or More features Krauss’s contributions to film soundtracks including the Oscar nominated songs, The Scarlet Tide, and You Will Be My One True Love, written for the motion picture Cold Mountain and Down to the River to Pray from the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Known for her collaborations, Krauss also includes several duets in the collection such as the 2003 hit with Brad Paisley, Whiskey Lullaby, and her duet with James Taylor for the tribute album Living, Loving, Losing: Songs of The Louvin Brothers, How’s the World Treating You. The collection debuts five new songs: You’re Just a Country Boy, Jacob’s Dream, Simple Love, Lay Down Beside Me, and Away Down the River, all of which feature Krauss as a producer.
