Joined: December 2006 Posts: 6994 Location: Jet City | I was examining my Elite LX the other day and noticed the soundboard is not perfectly flat. The back end of the bridge looks higher than the front. Is this normal? I'll see if I can capture what I'm trying to describe with a camera tonight. Thoughts?

I did exactly as instructed, and it went back to normal. I was examining my Elite LX the other day and noticed the soundboard is not perfectly flat. In fact, I believe that someone posted an article or even video demonstrating this concept....

Hereinafter what I found at "FRETT.COM" : Quote .....Well, it is possible that you have some real trouble there. In a healthy guitar, the "bulge" behind the bridge usually takes the form of an overall "dome" rather than having a lumpy appearance when viewed in reflected light. Now, sometimes the bracing inside simply "translates" through the top to reveal the location of brace ends, where there's no damage or difficulty. Where there is a pronounced "wrinkle" in the top behind the bridge, it's often a sign that the top has become loose from the X-brace in that area. As far as I know, there is only one cause of this looseness: excessive heat...... unquote for more check out at fret.com Riccardo

I do not have a humidifier going, but I can imagine anything in this state drying up. My freekin' car grows moss on it if I don't wash it occasionally! It's an Elite LX. Would this be a warranty issue? Maybe a ship to Ovation is in order?
