Location: Jet City | I was examining my Elite LX the other day and noticed the soundboard is not perfectly flat. The back end of the bridge looks higher than the front.
Is this normal? I'll see if I can capture what I'm trying to describe with a camera tonight.
Thoughts? |

Thoughts? A couple of years ago, my Balladeer started to do the same thing. It was in the winter. I took it to someone "in the know", and he said that the guitar was very dry and to put it in the case with a humidifier, making sure that the humidifier is always moist. I did exactly as instructed, and it went back to normal.

I made one myself using oak and a very long carriage bolt. but then again I was putting in a $40.00 dollar guitar. |

but, if the action is good and there is no separation tween the bridge and the soundboard, it's argued by some reputable luthiers that- that development produces better tone as there more efficient transfer of vibration from the strings to the front of the bridge, where nearly ALL the sound is actually generated... |

And after I fixed the humidifier she flattened back to normal. |

Location: Jet City | This guitar is well taken care of and is less than 3 years old. It's never in excessive heat or cold. I do not have a humidifier going, but I can imagine anything in this state drying up. My freekin' car grows moss on it if I don't wash it occasionally!
It's an Elite LX.
Would this be a warranty issue? Maybe a ship to Ovation is in order? |

So the "mound" can be normal and may even be designed that way?
Does anyone else have one like mine that they can look at? If it's a standard thing, I don't want to send it off.
