Location: Taxed To Death State | Yeah, too bad it wasn't a roundy being the last one. I hope they label it recognizing it as the last NH built guitar. Doubt Fender will care. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Well, I think the fact that the last guitar out of this famous and historic factory isn't even an Ovation pretty much sums up the story.
As I wrote on another forum ... as sad as it is, in my own mind the Ovation brand died long ago. They just now got around to disposing of the corpse.
Rather than be bitter or heartbroken, I'll just choose to live on with the wonderful memories and tremendous gratitude that 40+ years of my life was able to intersect the Ovation brand and family. A glance at "the wall" will never fail to bring a nostalgic smile to my face. |

The brand effectively died a while back but many of the friendships formed will last a lifetime. |

Every Ovation/Adamii I own is vintage 1970's/80's. Except for the OP Pro preamp and some of the special issue guitars, there wasn't anything of interest to me. I kept waiting for something new and cool to come along that might be better than my guitars. Never did (says how good I believe my guitars to be). But the people at the factory (specifically John & Kim), were what kept me coming back for more.
I'll miss knowing the factory is there, but I'm glad I was here for the last 12 years, and I'm grateful for the guitars I've played my entire life..... |

Location: Nashville TN. | I stopped in over that just before I left for Nashville .... "to get truss rod adjusted" it more to get say thank you and good bye to Kim John ans others there... John B even remembered when the inlay done back in 1990.... even remember how much it cost.... they had and repaired magicals things there. I will miss everyone there. |

| I bought my 1st Ovation Celebrity way back in the mid 80s. Still have it, recorded with it
for years. Wife just found an 74 1121-4, and put it on layaway for me, and last night
I won an auction for an 82 1655 12 string. So now my Ovation needs are met, other than
repairs, which looks like I can still maybe have done in CT.
Anywho, was in the same shop I bought my Celebrity from not long ago, and tried a
couple of their new Ovations, and none of the necks felt right, and their sound was
horrible.
Glad I'm sticking with vintage. They're just right. |
