Location: Caribou, ME | There's a neckless one and also a red one sans rosette. I have yet to find one that can't be repaired but ONE DAY I will. I need a neck and rosette donor and then I will use the (presumably unrepairable) bowl for scientific research. I need to make a caul that matches the braces under the bridge. If an AA-14 is going to die, it's usually loose braces directly under the bridge, leading to a distorted top and a pulled bridge (often with shrapnel). They then sit in a closet somewhere and the tops retain that distortion. It's no longer a simple matter of regluing the braces.... you gotta think medievel chiropractor. One shot, massive caul, massive clamp. My goal is to cut a bog access hole in the back of the bowl and then be able to see/measure/dry fit anything I need to. It will serve much like the skeleton in Anatomy 101. |

Location: Caribou, ME | There's about 30 more guitars, a piano, an upright bass, a couple mandolins, a couple banjos, a violin, a zither, an autoharp, a dulcimer, 3 lap steels and God knows what else down there so someone could have a party. Can't count on my 7 month old Golden Retriever to do much except lick them to death.

Location: Caribou, ME | Tone wise it would be the black aa12 not pictured because of the academy top. Playability wise it would be the sunburst in the upper right because I made a new bone nut with better spacing and I crowned the frets. Provenance wise it would be the natural one in front because it was the 1000th one made, signed by the line workers and some guy named Charles Kaman IV. |
