To give you some background, the GC 12 string was rebuilt -- old neck and new body. But what a body! It's the only one you'll ever find with an adirondack spruce top! It has a full rich sound. It also had a shiny bowl and the electronics from a FD14. Lastly, the headstock, being from 1969, has Glen's signature on the headstock, not the truss rod cover. The second guitar, the FD14 is unique as well. It's not LIKE the guitar in this ad http://ovationtribute.com/Catalogues/2004_Folklore_FD-14_US_Info_Sh... it IS that guitar. It was an engineering prototype and was originally built as an acoustic only. Later the standard electronics were put in, but with a slim line pickup/saddle. The guitar has been played and the top was worn when I got it, but it is in outstanding shape. Neither of these guitars will go cheap, but they will both be reasonably priced. They are both outstanding examples of U.S.A. built Ovations. I'll get pics and prices up later today.

I bought it from somebody at the factory (yeah, even 6 years ago they were hard to find) and it was confirmed later that it was an engineering prototype. It's in great shape. There are pick marks around the sound hole and the mark I tried to show in one of the pictures. Aside from that, no problems. The electronics work perfectly.
The guitar will be shipped in a highend Ovation case (the only kind I get) and then packed carefully. If it goes in the continental U.S., then I'll pay shipping. Going outside the U.S. you'll cover shipping. I take paypal but it's got to clear first. Same with checks and money orders. The price of this guitar is $1900. It's an excellent guitar, maybe one of the best Ovation ever made and only 50 were built. It wouldn't be going anywhere except the state is pushing me for money and the last 3 1/2 years have been tough. Feel free to email me directly.

Since it's so rare, a lot of folks here probably don't realize that it is a fingerpicker's dream ... 12 fret, 1.75" nut, cedar top. I love the tortoise binding and the rosette. I'm surprised you're letting this one go. Hopefully someone who knows what they're getting will see this and realize the value of this one.

I had the opportunity to buy Dave's and never regretted this. It's still my "dream" guitar. Only one comes close, the 1680. But it has not the glossed neck.... Paul, are you sure to let her go??? Best of luck with that sale! Bernie

I've never heard anything but superlatives about it. Anyway, hope you were able to sell what you needed to sell.
