Only after closing the tailgate do I notice coffee running out of the back of the car onto the bumper. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It did not appear that the speakers or any of the electronics got wet, and the coffee was limited to just the cabinet, so I wiped the amp down, inside and out, and cleaned it as best I could. Its now been a few weeks and everything is totally dried out. I guess its time to test it out again. Word of advice . . . never, under any circumstance, put any container holding liquid in the back of your vintage tube amp.

I was busy on the computer working on a mix, and I had the e cigarette hanging in my mouth. Out of habbit I reached over, grabed the lighter that has alwasy been on the same place on my desk and I tried to light the end of it. Meiting the plasic end. Thats not counting how many times I have tried to flick an ash into and ash tray we have in the house for guest. If I had an emoticons with a dunce hat I would post it here. Hope your amp is still good to go.

I have a mug that will not fit in my cup holder: I'm a slow learner and have spilled coffee inside my P/U at least three times... Thanks for the post folks: I smiled/laughed for the first time all day...Kit, congrats on quitting anyway!

When the vinegar smell is gone the coffee smell should be gone also. I mentioned this remedy in an earlier thread about a smell in a guitar case. When the odor is stronger I use less water. The last time I needed to use this method was when I won a film magazine for my Hasselblad camera. It smelled like the guy used it as an ash tray. I treated the magazine three times and now you can even tell that it ever smelled. This method also worked well for Vomit in rugs and and furniture.

When I was in high school, my parents took off for the weekend, so of course my two brothers and I had a huge neighborhood party at the house. Somebody hurled slow gin all over the hallway wall including the furnace (a gas wall heater). On the following day, one day before my parents returned, we ended up repainting the wall and my older brother removed the wall heater and power-washed it at the local $.25 car wash, then put it all back together. If my parents every discovered our little problem and cover up, they never let on. Those were the days.
