This is a BBE Sonic Maximizer equipped Active Direct Box. BBE DI-100X This unit is fantastic and it is dead mint w/original box, docs, etc. $100 shipped. As always, Cliff gets first dibbs if interested ;)

It is also built like a brick with heavy metal housing. Kinda like a microphone preamp. You can take a $200 preamp and a $1500 preamp and they will both amplify the microphones but a $100 mic through a $200 preamp will sound like crap compared to a $100 mic with a $1500 preamp (which will actually sound pretty good). The BBE unit also has their "sonic maximizer" built in which gives more clarity and presence. I found it to make my acoustic, electric and bass guitars really "sparkle" when played live and it really made the instruments stand out in the mix when I recorded through it. I am selling it because I got a Pendulum Audio Quartet preamp that also contains a very high quailty DI through a tube circuit which is better for me with my studio enviroment.

Joined: June 2005 Posts: 1320 Location: Round Rock, TX | Stephen, It got here today. Everything's in really great shape (thank you very much). I've had fun playing around with the Sonic Maximizer settings. I tried it (so far) with the Martin and with the 2007-BCS. For me, the 2007-BCS with the image selector set to 1, the mix slider set all the way to image, the EQ set flat and both BBE knobs set to 1 - 1.5 feeding the Bose is right there with the best amplified acoustic sound I have ever heard. And it's right here in my studio!!! Are ya feelin' the love? 'Cuz I'm sending the love. I may post more later, but right now gotta play.

I still have a rack mounted 882 and a stinger pedal that I use all the time. I will probably let the pedal go because with the 882 it is a little redundant.

This might be a good topic for a thread...
