It's priced rather optimist but it does look like a nice gathering of axes!

Very nice indeed and very optimistic.

Good to see however.

He does say in the auction - PLEASE NOTE: THE (BIN PRICE) IS SET HIGH "INTENTIONALLY"

It is a very nice selection. I wonder what the reserve is...

WOW, nice set.
Just wonder what 8/10 condition really means.
If I were buying one I would like a little more detailed information.
Not for my pocket but it wouold be good to see them stay together.

These are the types of pictures I like to see. Very nice collection, and could serve as the basis of a stellar calendar photo in the right arrangement. No comment on the BIN price.

From the photo's, only one doesn't have original pickups, but it looks like a top notch job. I'm not one for collections just based on "one of each color" but the Breadwinners and Deacons would make nice collection.

By the way, there is no "reserve price". This is a "Best Offer" auction.

That means you make an offer and he is free to accept or reject it.

If there was a reserve price, everyone could see whether it was reached yet or not. Then once someone bid the reserve price (or higher), he would be obligated to sell the lot.

By using the Best Offer feature no one knows how much he really wants for them. He can just entertain offers and he's never obligated to sell.

Thanks scooterboy. Makes sense. It'll be interesting to see if any offer is accepted.

SO who here has made offers? Not me. I'd only need one, and it would be for playing.

I actually considered it. But it would have accomplished the exact opposite of what I suspect is the seller's intention (that's not why I passed on it though).

He must be trying to keep this collection together. That's the only explanation I can think as to why he wouldn't sell them separately, since he would most likely make more by splitting them up.

I considered making an offer on the lot, and if it was accepted I would keep one and sell the rest individually, hopefully making the net cost for the one I kept as low as possible.

But in the end I decided against it for two reasons. One - My gut told me he's not going to sell the lot for a price low enough to make that plan work (my gut could be totally wrong though). And two - I wasn't looking forward to the hassle of selling the remaining four, with the ebay fees and shipping and so on.

So I passed. :)
