This is mine. I bought this NOS awhile back.
It has almost no play time on it.
I have been saving it for posterity, I guess.
Now I will send it to someone who will play it.
No fret wear or pick tracks or cracks or any of that stuff.
I did put Gold & Pearl tuners on it.
(I will change it back to some regular chrome tuners if you ask me to)

Those sure ain't Red Blanket Photos. :p

More pics here...

This will include a case, case candy, truss wrench and some shims.
$650 shipped to the Lower 48 with PayPal.
$600 plus shipping to other places.

Grear guitars, I used to have the same one in a burst. It belongs to my friend and bandmate (Hand Shave Noodles) J.

Hey OMA, any interest in a trade? I might know someone with a red flame that might be interested.

No Thank You, Damon... I have an Orange one.

I am more in need of cash.

Yeah, I seen J's New England Burst... Those are Purdy.
(I have a 6778LX NEB round-back that I will let go for the same price  )

Arthur,

Ah geez, I wish you had it for sale 6 months ago as I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Looks like your LX is in fine condition and I would have preferred it over my 2778AX. I might be interested after this weekend if after checking out my warranty repaired AX, I end up being disappointed.

BTW, I can't really tell from your photos. Is the saddle parallel to the edge of your bridge or is it at a slight angle?

Richard

Aw... You made me hafta go look!

It is at an angle.
Measuring from the black bumpers on the ends of the saddle it is 6mm at the bass end and 4.5mm at the treble end.

For comparison, I just checked "Maggie" 6778LX and she is 4mm and 2.5mm at the same places...

wait...

The other 6778LX is 6mm and 5mm.

The Sweet-T is 6mm and 5mm (but it is not an LX)

So, I think that they are supposed to be at some angle.
Plus that 'stagger' in the individual saddles.

Arthur,

Thanks for taking the time to do the measurements. I'm almost positive the original saddle slot on my 2778AX was parallel to the bridge. Looking at your picture I can see the angle. I never measured mine but it "looked" parallel. I have the same "stagger" in the saddle pickups as you. Probably explains why the new slot on the new bridge had to be routed on an angle to get the intonation correct.

Something else was a bit weird with the original bridge. The 1st and 6th strings didn't converge at the same angle toward the width of the nut. The 6th string was almost at a 90° angle to the bridge while the 1st string converged at a greater angle. It was almost as if the bridge wasn't centered from side to side.

This is the only image I have of the original setup though it is not close enough for you to see the convergence. I'll post an image of the new bridge later this weekend.

OK, here is a cropped version of the first image. Hopefully this shows more clearly the convergence and parallel saddle.

I picked up my repaired 2778AX this morning. The luthier did a beautiful job with the bridge and setup. It plays and sounds wonderful. In the image you can see where he had to fill in the slot when he re-cut it. The saddle is now on an angle instead of parallel to the bridge as the Korean factory had it. The intonation is darn near perfect. The tech told me the track of the strings was all messed up as well. This image is a bit more true to life with the colors as the other images were enhanced (saturation increase, warmer color temperature and a glow filter applied)for creative purposes (I'm a photographer , at least on my good days ).

I don't know why the photos disappeared from the original post. But here they are again.

If nobody wants this it will be going out to d'Bay eventually and it will cost more there.
At least 14% more to cover fees and such.

BTW, I apologize... I didn't mean to hijack your post. You asked for pictures and that is why I posted them.

Your 2778LX a beautiful guitar. If it sounds as good as it looks I wouldn't mind owning it. :)
