I've seen that Boss makes a smaller unit, which might fit your kit. What I do sometimes, is tape a rhythym track on a casette player, and then play lead on play back. This looper is 10 times better. (Let me add, I only use the casette player in my home and don't own the Boss RC20)

I use them mainly for practicing leads and riffs. It occurred to me that they could certainly add another dimension to a live performance, but as Temp aluded to, you better be spot on or it could be a disaster.

But what I was thinking was using it to lay down, say a simple rhythm track that I could store and use when I do a live special at church. I only do one song so am I right in assuming I can lay down tracks and store them for a later performance? Steve

I've had it about a month or two and can't stop playing with it. I've been asked to play some background music at an art gallery grand opening and intend to use it in a live instrumental-only session.

Different enough to justify both toys ;) . I always felt the Roland Space Echo was one of the best units made. 201's and 301's are still somewhat easy to find in good shape. Hard to beat the sound of true tape vs digital.
