Location: Israel | How could it be that an Ovation celebrity deluxe model CS247 i recently purchased is red, when on the ovation site they claim to have this particular model only in green quilt?
thats odd!
and could anyone state the difference between my 247 to the 257?
and one last thing, is the 247 'inferior' guitar to higher priced guitars ala baladeer? |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Tristan....the colors can change with each model year....you probably have a model from a past year, which had been in a shop until you bought it.
The 247 is a mid-bowl guitar, the 257 is a shallow-bowl guitar, referring to bowl depth.
I personally feel that the Korean Celebrity guitars don't have the "depth" and richness of sound that the U.S.-made models do, but it is whatever works for YOU. If you like the 247, that is great!

All of the guitars made by Ovation are excellent, make no mistake there. There are differences in the grades of materials and the amount of "human craftsmanship" applied. Price levels can be a guide to the level of quality but use caution there. The Celebrity series is made in the Pacific Rim and uses proven designs, techniques and some compromise on the soundboard. USA O's are solid where the Celebs are laminated.
I recently purchased a CP2003H which I received and thought it to be an excellant instrument. I decided to take it back and I'm awaiting an Elite LX.
Ovation makes some wonderful "Tools". Some cost more, some are fine tuned for different purposes. Not every model is right for what you want to accomplish and your budget.
All of the Ovations are excellant guitars. |

Location: south east Michigan | You tell'em Woody! I think we have to remind ourselves of that at times. I have to think that Ovation offers more options than anyone else. It takes alot of homework just to decide on the make of guitar that might be right for you. Choosing an Ovation means another big dose of homework to have the best chance to be satisfied.

Location: Texas | I started off with a CS247, mid bowl, green quilt. It is a nice looking, and good soundig guitar. But, my left hand really got fatigued playing it.
I exchanged the CS247 and paid the extra difference for for a S771 Special Balladeer. This is the starting point model into the USA made Ovations. Great playability, and no more left hand fatigue.

Location: Upper Left USA | I would consider the Celeb's as the "Pickup truck" of the O's. I would bring it anywhere and play it! Picnics and cook-outs. I wouldn't have the anxiety of a "Corvette" owner about what roads I won't go down or if there is a chance of rain today!
You may have noticed that this board is mostly USA Ovation oriented. Data on the Celebs is hard to pin down. It is so cool to have a member from Isreal.

Location: Upper Left USA | Sorry Al. You're probably used to lot of AH-Vees running around the Tune-pike. Here in Washington(AC)you drive a Ford if you work for a living, a Dodge if you haul a Fifth-Wheel and a Chevy if you don't want to look like a soccer-mom when you drop off your kids. The other 95% drive Ah-Vees of ever increasing size and trim packages and will never see gravel. Most rigs are more expensive than the owners needs and don't get used to their potential...
Which brings me around to (know anybody that uses the word segue in a sentance) my original point, if I have one. |

I have to admit, I bought my Celebrity CC01 to use as my "travel guitar"....I won't cry much if it gets trashed.

i play it mainly as it is an electric guitar.
so it gets lots of beatings ;D
it stands 'em pretty well
