Man, the thing sounded and played beautiful. I was really surprised at how bright the tone was. I own 4 Ovations, including a LX 1777, 1619CL among other acoustics, and was considering taking this one home. Anybody own one of these babies. I even took it over to the Taylor & Martin room, for some sound comparisions, and it put them to shame. Please note: any positive replies about this guitar will force the author of this subject to incurr another pleading request to his spouse about buying this baby. Tommy

Breedlove is now forgotten! :D

Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me." YMMV.

Standing on their own, they are wonderful instruments. Play easy, sound bigger than you can imagine, plug in and soar even more. What I like about the T's is the acoustic sound. Big and full, even on the shallow bowl (compared to other shallow bowl models). I'd stack my 1778T up against all the big boys for acoustic sound - plug the sucker in and there is no comparison (IMHO). Buy one from Al and fall in love (your wife will too!). :) :) :)

Me being biased about a shallow bowl,(I only own deep bowl and mid-bowl) tried it out. After an hour of bouncing them back an fourth, the 1868T won, hands down. If played without an amp, volume about the same. The 1868T plays a bit brighter. It's easy to handle, especially on the back, shallow with a true acoustic sound. Left Al's with the 1868, a happy camper. Tommy

Hearing these kinds of stories makes up for that. If they make a 12 string I will destroy my financial situation and wander the streets with my 12 string 1778T while my wife is sent to the poorhouse, or worse yet, to my son's house where she will reform him and his children and end 30 years of him playing bluegrass with me. I am ready for the 12 string program!! Bailey
