Maybe because the local 'oldies' station plays that fscking "Moondance" three times a day, every day. I didn't know he (Van Morrison) played saxophone, and I was doubly surprised to see him blowing a harp. The cover of "I Can't Stop Loving You" was just fantastic, IMHO. "Not Feelin It" was pretty damn good, too. I missed the first part of the show, coming in somewhere around the middle of "Playhouse."

I kind of expected him to play alot more of his most popular songs, but I ended up really enjoying the show. And it stoned me!

I once read somewhere that Van Morrison doesn't do very many of his 'hits' during sets because he doesn't want to be seen as a nostalgia act (or maybe heard it on the radio). Frankly, I'm glad he didn't play more old stuff. If I had turned on ACL and he was doing "Moondance" or "Domino," I'd have turned the channel and not discovered that he's actually quite musical.

His shows are always more like a music lesson than a stage show. What I mean to say, is that it's all about being in the music, not flashy performance or hype. Masterful.
