I open them up and they are: A beautiful hardcover book entitled "Kaman: Our Early Years" by Charles H. Kaman. Above the picture of Charles Kaman that's facing the Introduction page is written - To Scott Regards, Charlie Kaman ("Scott" is me) In the other package is a glossy black 40th Anniversary Ovation brochure and on the cover in gold ink is signed "Charlie Kaman". Turns out my BIL's father worked for Charlie Kaman decades ago. So he wrote Mr. Kaman a letter earlier this year, mentioning his father and asked him for an autograph for me. Back came these two items and a nice letter from Charlie's personal assistant. She read Charlie the letter but he did not remember my BIL's father. She also wrote that he still plays guitar a few times a week with his band and others at the Healthcare Center where he resides. At 89 years old, that's truly inspiring. She went on to say that although his penmanship is not the best these days, he still signed these two items for me. So tell me - how great is that?

And to now tarnish my BIL's reputation a bit - he gave me these items before dinner. AFTER dinner, he passed out homemade comic books that I had made in seventh grade. He and my sister live in the house I grew up in, and he found them when cleaning out the attic. Believe me he took GREAT pleasure in embarrassing me with those! :D And no, I'm not going to post pictures of them. :p
