Recently, I was thinking about sending my Breadwinner back to the Mothership for a refinish job and possibly a neck repair (if the folks there can fix a warped neck.) While the board is probably the wrong place to ask, I was wondering if anyone here can give me a ballpark estimate on the cost of the work and what effect it'll have on the guitar's originality.

Thanks!

It will be an original with factory repairs, which I believ is better than a 25 year old original.

Only they can provide an estimate.

You will find the mothership to be EXTREMELY reasonable with their repair costs.

I am constantly amazed at what they do for the prices they charge.

Just one more reason to play Ovations. :)

I wonder if they could bring this one back to life? http://cgi.ebay.com/1973-Ovation-Acoustic-Electric-Classical-Needs-...

Funny, Mike, I was just looking at that CA and wondering the same thing.

Are you going to bid?

I think MWoody could do a pretty fair job on it also.
He probably could help the Breadwinner also, ( My attempt to get this thread back on the topic.) :)

Yah, I put a starter on it. This would be a factory repair, if possible. Not that I wouldn't mind having Mike do it, but it needs a neck reset.

(edited for lucidity)
Limited Repair:
I can't copy the Barn Door Grey paint job. Factory is the only place for that. I have a Breadwinner neck that has an oiled neck, re-veneered peg face and an Abalone strip up against the nut. It might go with a natural BW/Limited but not the Grey Ghost.

Of course, it would play like buttah!

The Factory can re-face the fret board or some other magical incantation.

I love the whole album. Especially 'Telegraph Road'. It's on 'industrial disease' now.

One of my favorite all time Albums...TR gets my vote for the best "rock" song ever written....
