found a guitar, but what is it?

Joined: February 2007 Posts: 4 Location: Tampa | i was working for my mother in laws company, cleaning all the junk out of a foreclosed home, and came across an ovation guitar. sweet find. i took it to the local sam ash luthier and he restrung it and replaces a fret wire, but he couldnt tell me anything about it. the model no is 1612-1 and i dont know where the serial no is. can you guys help me identify this guitar? *ps i did a forum search and looked at the ovation code cracker and found out it was a acoustic electric roundbacks, standard bowl, 5 13/16" deep, deluxe baladeer, but i want to know the year and what it might be worth. you guys know how i can find that out? | ||

Joined: December 2004 Posts: 1116 Location: Keller, TX | Serial number is usually on the back of the headstock or on the label inside the soundhole. We need a serial number to figure out the date. | ||

Joined: December 2003 Posts: 13996 Location: Upper Left USA | For an estimate of going Ebay prices I would do an advanced search of the Completed listings like this one! You will find they go from $150-$250. It's rather disappointing. Enjoy what you have and it's value is much higher! | ||

They have their own unique voice and are excellent quality. I have a Custom Balladeer 1112-1 and if I got $250 for I'd be on the high end. So it stays here. | ||
