Whichever, of course you can teach yourself. Just watch someone who does it well (say BB King if your talking about vibrato) and then do it. Eventually you'll develop your own style and method. I've found that if you fake (pretend) you know what you're doing, it's just as good as knowing what you're doing. | ||

Okanawan Samisen players also use vibrato as I understand it. That is, a left hand technique. One of the best exponents is BB King. For the right handed technique ... see above. | ||
