Now, what I mean by "production" is something that went ker-chunk-ker-chunk out the Connecticut door for years, or even months or weeks, to largely land on the walls of numerous music stores-- yet was not part of any particular, pre-planned run number or limited edition. Just something that sold until it didn't sell, or had the plug pulled for whatever practical reason to cease. I can only venture a wild guess, and say the 1111-* for the most.. but wouldn't even know where to start on the least.

The least sold USA production model would be the Contemporary Folk Classic.

My second guess for the most produced was leaning toward the 1612, but I gave more weight to the 1111 over the 1112-- albeit the 1112 is still the king poohbah of my own fleet's preferred sound, so I can see how it was so successful-- however, the 1627 GC RI I got from you (even though its planned production term/count doesn't fit the question) seems to be my new favorite daily grab in order to spare fret wear on the 1112 for special occasion since I want to keep the originals on there for a sentimental reason. I have no direct recognition of the Contemporary Folk Classic, and probably wouldn't know it if it knocked on my door, so I suppose my excuse would be its lesser-known reputation among the greater population. PS edit:: So now my curiosity is up as to WHY the Contemporary Folk Classic was the least. Edited by Love O Fair 2025-01-28 10:14 PM

If memory is correct without going to look it up, I believe that Chris rebuilt one of those a couple of years ago. The one that was caked in blue paint. Am I getting that right? Such a shame how it met that peril, though also looking quite unique and impressive after its painstaking restoral. The 1968 DB that I bought from Dave is similar to it, but not a Campbell, and likely not among the lesser-produced models of that era (albeit a burst, which I assume could have been one of the fewer of that particular model's colors since most I have ever seen were natural). All that nasty blue paint was to cover all the cracks and fissures in the top from probable years of gigging. I really didn't know how few of these critters The Mothership had made, this one being A-914. It is currently resting, detuned, in the hardshell case of my ersatz 1122 creation from past years. As I have casually perused the Connecticut Ovation used instrument listings these past 20-plus years, I would agree the most prolific have been the Balladeers. However, if you include the imports, well, that picture changes quite dramatically.

Since it was listed in a catalog I'll agree with FlySig and go a step further The Adamas 2085WT 12 string has got to be super rare and is listed in this Japanese catalog Any guess how many are out there less than 50 I bet, maybe dozens??? http://ovationtribute.com/Catalogues/2011_Adamas_JP_Brochure/2011_A...
