How wide is the nut on an Ovation/Adamas 12-string? And what 6 string Os (with steel strings) came with wider nuts? (I know the nylon string ones do.) Thanks!

To my knowledge, only the Josh White had a wider neck. (2 inches) Most steel string Ovations had 1-11/16".

1 7/8" is the specified nut width on 12 string O/A.

Hello, Everyone,
Correct me if I'm wrong here, please, but didn't all of the now discontinued Ovation Folklore models, i.e., both steel and nylon 6-string guitars, ("Twin Sons of Different Mothers", and the Limited Edition 2016 50th Anniversary Folklore Deluxe also have a specified nut width of 1 7/8"? I'm just thinking out loud on this one.

To round out Mike S's list of models with 1-7/8" nut:

Josh White was K-1114, then became Folklore 1114 or 1614 with pickup.
Nylon string 1124/1624, mid (or artist?) depth.
Folklore 6774 with cutaway.
Folklore Deluxe FD-14

Seems like something is still missing, maybe the parlor guitar, but I'm a solidbody kinda guy...

1 7/8"

According to the 1967 Josh White brochure, it's 2". Yet, according to the 1968 JW brochure, it's 1-7/8".

I also checked the 1969 catalog and The JW is listed as having a 1-7/8" neck.

So, this begs the quetion, was the 1967 JW the only one to have a 2" neck, or was that a typo?

I do remember something about a wider nut on a parlor but can't quite place it. Maybe it was a custom one-off guitar, or perhaps a 12 string version which may have been a custom guitar?

There was the 1997 Collector's edition, and then I believe a non-collector's edition offered in 1998. On my 1997 Collector's edition the nut is the standard width, and the neck is very slim, making the nut seem even smaller.

My Folklore 1114 from the early 70s has a 1 7/8" nut. The nut on my 1763 nylon string classical (early 90s) is 2".

I think the Adamas U-681 "UTE" had a wide neck.

I'm 99.9% sure the Ute is a wider nut.

The Ute is 1 3/4, as is the 1617 ALE.
