Thanks to muzza I have figured out how to upload photos, although they may end up very big.  Sorry about that.  I'm practicing.  Here is the case that came with my Custom Elite 2078 LX.  The guy who sold it to me said the bottom of the case had the crack when he bought it from someone else.  I wonder if this will effect the safety of the guitar inside.  Should I consider a new case?  Recommendations?  And see the bottom photo too.  Somebody help me with this thing please.  Apparently it needs a battery, but I don't know how to replace it.

Oh yeah, and how do I replace the battery in this??  I have no idea who to use it and I can't find anything online that resembles a "user's manual."

As I told you, ignore the filesize [ie "200kB"] and edit the photo's physical dimensions, like Standingovation recommends; 72 pixels per inch (ppi - sometimes called dpi - dots per inch) 600 -> 800 pixels wide, depending on how detailed you need the photo to be. Up to 1000 pixels wide is bearable on most modern computers if you need to show something accurately in context, but 700 wide is a good starting point.

I think TAFKAR has the record for the largest photo posted, (I think it was something like 450,000 pixels wide) so don't feel TOO bad...

You're not alone Meredith, lots of folks find this picture uploading stuff a bit bewildering, especially if ya don't have a teenager around (who of course knows everything) to show ya how "simple" it is!

You don't have to use photoshop to resize (resample) your image size.

When you post an image using the insert/edit image box, one of the options is dimensions.

Normally, this will be automatically filled when you enter the image URL.

If the size is wider than 800, then manually enter the size you want.

For example, the actual image size below is 1024 x 768.

But, I forced it to be 320 x 240 by editing the image dimensions.

This can be done when creating a new post, or by editing the post, then clicking on the image and adjusting the size.

I use PS Elements a lot.

With image open, go to image - image size

then enter 800 x 600 in the pixel dimension set (make sure the maintain image constraints box is checked)

Save as new file.

Meredith, that case crack doesn't look that bad (I've seen worse). Did you ask the MS tech what (if any) patch method they'd recommend?

I saw in the archives a post from seesquare, stating that Bondo worked "great" for case repairs and (eek) bowls too.  Places like AutoZone, Discount Auto Parts and Sears automotive sell Bondo kits.  I don't know if it'd be strong enough for remounting the case footpad to the same spot though. ??  Any case repair gurus out there?
