Hi folks,
I've decided to sell my 1687. It was my first Adamas guitar I purchased from an OFCer in Germany. But since I've adopted two wide-neck Adami (1682 and 1689) it's not played any more. So it has to go. Production year 1988, OP-24, near mint condition. No issues. 1250 Euros or $1700. Shipping is free to a destination in Germany, 22 Euros to most destinations in Europe and $70 to the US.

This guitar sounds awesome acoustically and even better plugged in. IMHO the OP-24 is the best Ovation preamp ever. Very warm and mellow.

Here is my ad on craigslist: 1687-8

Before I sell one the wide-necks I'd sell my wife and kids. And I really love my family.

That's what I thought you would say :)

Where did you come by them? They're pretty rare right?

They're not rare, but they're really expensive. I've gotten rid of the kids, but my wife still hangs around.

Mark, absolutely right. Both were offered on German ebay and I made BIN offers to the sellers. Compared with these BINs the 1687 offered here is a super-bargain.
In summer my older daughter will leave home for university. :)

Not to highjack the thread but Dweezil if your looking for a wideneck, Paul Templeman still has his 1189-7 for sale. I had hoped to buy it in March but it looks like it's not gonna happen. It is one of the early ones signed by Charlie himself...

Blimey another model number to learn, erm what is different between the 1189 and 1689, was it just acoustic only?

These early wide-necks are both rare and expensive. 1189 is acoustic-only, 1689 is electric/acoustic. Paul's guitar originally was acoustic only and he made a later add on with an original OP-24 preamp. So it's a 1689 now equipped with the best Ovation preamp ever.

I was referring to wives and kids, not guitars. I guess I'm just too subtle. Karl, save some in case I get to meet you in Germany in April (referring to guitars, not kids).

Oops! Yes, that was way too subtle for my entirely superficial and only guitar-driven mind. I'm afraid that I will still have some in April (referring to kids, not guitars).
