HECK YES! My wife and I usually split a combo platter - ribs, chicken, brisket. Great Stuff. My business has recently started taking me to Salt Lake City pretty often and I just noticed this week a FD's close by. Unfortunately it means I'll also need to hit the jogging trail a little bit extra.

If anyone's in NY, you gotta try the Dinosaur BBQ. A guy I went to high school started it years ago and it is incredible bbq. Beef, ribs, pork, cornbread, beans, you name it. He's in Syr, Rochester and NYC now and was on the Today Show last week. Great stuff.

Hey Weaser P,

The Dinosaur BBQ was one of the many places I frequented when I used to live there! I've also tried their offerings at the NY State Fair, but the food that they serve in their restaurant is still by far the best! Besides the yummy stuff, do they still have live performances over there? I recall seeing Joe Bonamassa play live there -- he was just a youngster back then. I also recall the Kingsnakes (long before they disbanded).

You mentioned in your post that the Dinosaur landed in NYC as well -- that sounds awesome! Any chance you know the address where it's located? I'm making plans to head over there, for a taste of home once again! :)

Absolutely, Gil. Look here for directions. They still have great blues, including the occasional stop by Joe (Smokin' Joey Bonamasa back in the day but I guess we all grow up a little given enough time) and the Kingsnakes. Check it out! And next time you venture back up home, let me know! I'd love to meet you and the wife there for a bite to eat and some music!

Thanks Weaser! I will definitely give you a buzz, the next time I visit there. My wife had very good memories with her visits at Syracuse. Besides Dinosaur, she often talked about the good laughs and camaraderie she had with friends and family, while the pints kept on coming at Clarks -- it's on the corner not so far away from where Onondaga Music used to be located -- Clinton and Jefferson I think. She also talked about the place called Empire that brewed their own stuff ... probably some of the best pints of black and tans I've ever drank! Now, I'm not so sure if those places still exist ... perhaps?

Ahh ... the good ole memories ... :)

Clark's is still pouring along with serving a great roast beef sangwich but Empire Brewing left us a little bit ago. That whole area, the Armory, has really been built up so there's plenty to wander into on a good night.

Sounds like a plan - you let me know the next time you're planning on coming up and we'll make it happen. Maybe we can fit in some time to have a couple cold ones and strum a few chords in the backyard too. Best to Mrs. Ignimbyte! :D
