you and me both.

one of my all time favorites. I pulled out some of the vinyl to play for my 16 year old nephew. He even liked it. It just goes to show you that good music holds up to the test of time.

I'd have to say Ghosts was my favorite, though my brother was partial to Hero and Heroine. I even recorded "Beside The Rio Grande" years ago on my 4 track.

Thanks for the link. The amazing thing is that it's the classic lineup. I have a friend that saw Journey, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire last year, and NONE of the bands had their "real" lead singers. Even before I clicked over I knew Dave Cousins would be fronting Strawbs. I've gotta check out their current sound.

Maybe we should try to get Dave Lambert over here and convince him to pick up the Breadwinner again.

I'm trying to fit the Syr show into the schedule. Great, small venue. I'm thinking it's going to be a great show .

"Ghosts".
Definitely "Ghosts".
That album & I have long history together.
The Acoustic Tour usually comes through about once a year, tho' I've YET been able to catch it due to the gig schedule . . .

I'd like t'try to catch them at Krogh's in Sparta (my old hometown) this year . . . providing the ex-wife won't be there . .

I actually saw this "acoustic tour" in Tucson about a year ago. I'm a huge Strawbs fan so my expectations were pretty high. I would say it was only "ok". Hard for me to think of it as Strawbs music without Blue Weaver playing mellotron. Dave no longer played his GC12 which was a disappointment. Because of lack of keys they stuck with mostly lighter songs, avoiding such heavies as Benidictus and Down By The Sea.

Yeah, I'd heard an acoustic version of "Ghosts" from one of the tours online . . . like you said, it was . . "okay" . . .

Being that I always wanted t'see them and never did, I might be willing to blow the $25 and see them in a place that brews their own (pretty good) beer, and cross 'em off the List . . .

Our own MasterTempleman has some acquaintance with some of the Strawbies. . . .

The upcoming BoxSet might be interesting.

It's great how hanging out with fellow geezers brings up music I haven't listened to in a long time. I just listened to some old Strawbs. "The Hangman and the Papist" still gives me chills. I remember the night my brother called me into his room and made me listen to it.

BTW, the official site is HERE.
It has tons of O pix "hanging in the gallery". Such as:

Nice... forgot about these guy's...I did a little gig at Cafe Lena's for my own experience a short while ago and plan on doing it again. Want to try out some new stuff for the Duo, it is only a half hour away and I see these guy's are coming on the 22. Tiny club and so full of history! Sounds like an interesting night in Saratoga. Love this time of year there, everything is still open and there are 1/10th the people because the track is shut down for the year and the leave watchers are all up farther north.
