I saw a biography of George Jones and they told of a period in his life when he was possessed by a duck and the old man. He would talk duck talk for days and the duck and the old man would argue violently, his last wife talked him into letting them fight to the death and that cleared up the problem.

What does that have to do with us??

I notice that I, Bailey, and others have been signing off with our blues names, mine being Muddy Lemon Davis (shut up Muddy, I am talking to the boys), has any body noticed a tendency for this persona (Muddy you idiot, persona is a sort of identity not a Ford car that saves gas) to interfere with normal living. I created a fictional description of Muddy (No Muddy, I am NOT denying that you exist, quit shouting those blues things in my ear) that was supposed to be a humorous joke (No Muddy, I did not say you were a joke, Al did).

This thing has bothered me for a while (What do you mean Muddy that I spend too much time looking at Paris Hilton videos?)

Muddy Lemon Davis (Some idiot named Bailey keeps screwing up my life)

Bailey,

Usually it's either me or him... or Zoloft.

I am seriously considering a 12-string so we can each play 6-strings when we ARE together.

Schizophrenia doesn't necessarily imply multiple personality disorder. Although, that being said, the common understanding is that schizophrenia is, in fact, synonymous with MPD. Schizophrenia is a classification of several (or many, depending on the school of thought) disorders, ranging from the disconnection of emotions from thought processes all the way to delusions and hallucinations.

I blame Hollywood for pushing this notion that schizophrenia (or more correctly, the group known as schizophrenias/schizophrenic disorders) *is* multiple personality disorder. I've always thought that there should be PSAs on television to re-educate the public that 'schizophrenia is not MPD.' They could say something like, 'When you think schizophrenia, think schism! A break with reality, that's all. Sometimes.'

Now, do you want to know what psychotic *really* means?

:)

Hey Cruster,

Seems like you know way more than is normal about this subject.

Was that you talking, or were we listening to Boney?

Hey, Skinny, how's it goin'? I s'pose we'd have to agree on a definition of 'normal' before I admit to knowing more than is 'normal' about being 'abnormal.' HA!

Not from first hand experience. I know enough psychology to be dangerous (to others, not myself ). Although, it's fun to sit in restaurants or the mall and 'psuedo-psychoanalyze' people. Has anyone else ever noticed how many ticks/habits people are walking around with? I blame Red Dye #7. Or was it yellow dye. I can't remember...must have been the Nutrasweet.

So, what is called when my guitar tells me to do things. Really bad things.

But only when I am not wearing my Aluminium foil hat...

Well Crusty,

I pretty much define normal as what everyone else thinks I'm not.

And I certainly don't know about red or yellw dyes, But a very loud voice once told me to stay away from the brown acid. Really wish I'd listened.

Technically, Fellow Space Cadets, multiple personality syndromes are referred to as "Dissociative Identity Disorder", and the persona usually have no awareness of one another. The conceptualization of "splitting" with reality is generally accurate in schizophrenic process, and usually transitory- nobody gets away with that behavior for very long. So, amuse yourselves as you like- we engage in a lot of "gallows humor" in the shrink's biz.

To deal with the many voices - do like Paul Atriedes (Dune) did and give in to the Drum Maker!

AIEEEE

MWoody is a Bene Gesseret witch.

Muddy Lemon Davis is the Qwisach Hidarrish, the ultimate result of the wierding ways, and the son of Tiny Tim and the Las Vegas Bene Gesserret Witch, whose white pianos, candelabra and sequened tuxedos, were the final result of centuries of matching the royalty of the Old Spice and High Desert survivors of high stakes gambles involving the dubious monetary resources of the Evil and totally ruined prince, Howard Hughes and his cohort the corrupt Doris Day.

Muddy crawls through the Las Vegas Desert, encrusted with $10,000 casino chips, and curses the fact that he can see far into the future and if nobody sends Bailey a check for thousands of dollars they will all die, some in old age some eaten by the worms, some blown away by the desert coriolis winds if they are unlucky enough to be caught pooping in a public toilet.

Muddy (It is really, really hard knowing the future, please send cash to my friend Bailey, disquised, of course from discovery from the Spacing Guild, also known as the IRS)
