It's an early one with the 4 screw offset hatch but certainly not one of the first 22. Looks like somebody took a hacksaw to the fretboard extension. My guess is that the extension was bowing up and buzzing so some master luthier did the obvious ham fisted repair.

fingerboard was probably warping and those chose to cut it as a solution

I just stumbled upon this thread and am horrified...not even the Mothership could fix that. Obviously this 'repair' was not only botched but performed by a demon.

But a new neck, while it costs, is an easy fix. In fact, I know somebody who has an Adamas 2 neck that could be put on there.....

Those super early Adamas I necks had foam molded broccoli on the head. doubt you could ever find one of those to keep it original.
