The Deacon usually has the bound fretboard and diamond inlays. With a plain fretboard and unbound neck, it's a Breakwinner or Breadwinner Ltd.

Take a look at this

Sounds like it might have a UK-II neck on it.

A picture's worth a thousand words......

Bruce may have called it. I've seen a couple of Deacons with those necks. In fact somebody on this board has one. Stonebobbo?

I've seen P.Deluxe & bow-tie UK2 necks on Deacons. I've also seen unbound diamonds & dots on Breadwinners. Anything is possible, especially towards the end of productuion

It's a Preacher Deluxe neck. The Original Ovation bridge & the gold machines would suggest this is an after-market swap rather than sometning which originated at the factory

Yup ... my Deacon 12 has the P-Deluxe style neck, but it has the chrome bridge and tuners with pearloid buttons.

My Deacon 12 has the smaller pickguard, the diamond inlays, a bound neck, and a brass bridge.

Serial E 6049. Any idea when it was born?
