So while I'm filing a lost luggage claim they have me look at a list of pictures in order to provide a 'standardized' description of my luggage. The picture list comes from the IATA (International Airline Transport Association). Under the category musical instruments they show a tiny picture of two instruments. A saxophone and ... an O Legend. So...imagine you're a Martinista, traveling with your Big Baby (cause, lord knows, you won't leave the house with your 'real' guitar), and it gets lost. Here's the dilemma. Do you point at the Legend and say "My guitar looks like that" or do you just walk away sobbing at the loss cause there's nothing in the list that looks like your guitar.

In retrospect, I have to agree with the thread police. This thread is probably not OT. In labeling it so I may have lured, under false pretenses, some lurkers who have come here to read the non-O content exclusively. In this case I must apologize. In the future I promise to come out of the closet and present my O content in a forthright fashion trying not to rely on subterfuge to gain readership. MWoody, Slipkid, et.al., is there a penalty associated with an infraction of this magnitude (or is that minitude). On a side note, you could tell that the picture of the O was a stock photo. It could not have been from an actual lost piece cause the case was pristine. You could tell it had never been 'handled' by an airline baggager.

To take a picture of lost luggage they would have to find it first. That's not likely to happen. On a side note, you could tell that the picture of the O was a stock photo. A Gibson! ...So...imagine you're a Martinista, traveling with your Big Baby (cause, lord knows, you won't leave the house with your 'real' guitar), and it gets lost. Here's the dilemma. Rick, I hope they find your stuff. Actually, I hope they write you a check for some better stuff!

I'd guess 15% of my flight and about the same on the succeeding flight were in the claim line. Pretty unbelievable. I'm guessing they do a random shuffle in Philly. Either that or they select for reading imparied individuals in their baggage department.
