Blessings...

Take a look at the long, lanky fingers on that kid. As for myself, having been born with Hobbit Hands is one of my favorite excuses.

I protest!!!! I think he is 35 years old with a great plastic surgeon :D

I am with you Brad - I was not blessed with long lankey fingers and that is my greatest excuse for not being able to play those chords.

I will find more excuses later :)

There was a 14 year old in the class I just took, been playing for 2 years. He's where it took me 25 to get to. That will bring it home to you too.

Thank You... Having added the nom-de-plume of Fat Fingers Davis, I use that excuse myself.
So, if we get a "Do-Over", I wanna go back to 3rd Grade Music Class and take the guitar instead of the clarinet!

(No, I don't play the clarinet, but I took lessons. That's the point.)

That kid is great.

I've stopped using the stubby finger excuse and have now started using the "I don't have any talent " excuse. It's much more effective !

Regards,

Tom

DOH - I have to admit my number one excuse is - I don't have talent which is why "So you think you have Talent" TV show will not be calling me.

Thank you Dr. Tom for making my nubby fingers a flimsy excuse. :D

Sure, he plays okay.

But he has to watch his hands.

And his first bit of foot tapping in the middle ,
the timing wanders a little.

And he needs a haircut.

....there's just something else,
I just can't put my finger on it.....

bet he can't sing!

I've always had long, slender fingers. I recently decided that there are some formations that I'm just not able to make easily, despite years of practice. And I must have some attention problem that keeps me from locking in some of the stuff I learn. I'm thinking more and more that some are really born to be better.

Well, just 'cause I'm petty and jealous doesn't mean I'm WRONG!

Right you are; you need short stubby cigar shaped fingers! :p
