Joined: September 2005 Posts: 3618 Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I so regret not being able to spend some time here at the OFC in the past months. As some of you already know, my wife started chemo for breast cancer (IDC) back in January, and it has been a long and difficult road, watching my best friend and soulmate of 39 years go through so much suffering. She has finished the heaviest/worst chemo drugs and will now have to continue with targeted chemo for the rest of the year. Two weeks ago she underwent a double masectomy, and I've been providing her care since then. What a terrible ordeal!, but there have also been many blessings that have come to us and between us in the midst. Hoping to get here a lot more...I feel I've missed out on a lot of time with my Ovation family. You guys and gals are great. Bryan

It takes someone extremely Special to go through Cancer and a Mastectomy with someone. To do all of the awful things that need to be done, many times a day, to see terrible, but necessary, things done to a person you Love, and have to keep a brave face for them. To see the pain they are in, and the confusion and being scared that you are, that is amplified in the face of your Loved One. I have been through it, and I remember feeling so badly for my spouse, because I could not even look at myself, and he had to change the bandages, empty and measure the bulb, and re-dress a massive, gross mess, and see the pain that we try to hide but can't. I know women get allot of credit for going through breast cancer, and it is not fun in any way, shape, or form, but the Men that stand beside us, and lend us their strength, and try to keep us moving forward, deserve a HUGE amount of Credit that they often don't get. SALUTE BVince! <3 Edited by Nancy 2016-08-21 11:02 AM

It has been written in many medical journals that hearing the specific tone of Ovation guitars is highly beneficial to the recovery of most any physical ailment. Okay, okay, so I stretch the truth a bit... but it's a therapy that certainly can't hurt her! Play on, my friend.
