Location: Chicago | Has anyone encountered (or owned) a Barrington Guitar, as in "Barrington Guitar Werks"? I've had a BGW 400 SEMIHOLLOW since the late '80s. Actually an amazing bit of woodwork and sweet jazz tone. Mine is identical to the one in these "Guitar Museum" pics. |

Location: Chicago | I've searched online but have not found much on BGW. I chanced upon the guitar in a New York (city) shop around 1987 or so.... (I lived in upstate NY at the time: Ithaca). |

Location: 6 String Ranch | That may be where it came from. Pete LaPlaca was with Kramer before he did this project out in Chicago land. |

Location: Chicago | That's a nice coicidence (seeing that I was back East at the time and moved "over" to BGW country). I'll be interested to learn what happened to the outfit: very ambitious woodwork. High-end for sure. |

Location: Franklin, MA | I also have a BGW-400 that I purchased used in 1995 for $500. Mine is a beautiful Sunburst with flame maple on the back and sides. It's a fantastic Jazz box with great tone and beautiful wood. My only complaint would be the inlays on the neck are a little sloppy compared to most Gibsons I own or have seen. However, it plays and sounds every bit as good as any Gibson Jazz Box I've played. I own 20+ guitars and this one is in the top 3 for time on guitar. |
