Someone here must know about these things.
A guitar cord with a cut off switch in the jack, so when you unplug while still plugged in and live, it kills the signal till it's plugged back in again.
Where can I get some of these?

I've had that suggested too.
I'll order them at the end of this week so they will arrive at a place where I will be. Been on the move a lot this summer.

Beal, post on how they work out.

I have used "switched" cables in the past, and they worked great when new... but after a few months... I ended up cutting off the ends and putting regular ends on them. I'm hoping technology has improved since then.

Not quite sure as to why an " On-Off " switch on a Git. cable , there are Mics. with those , but those are known to mal-function too, even when Magnetic.
I do switch-off my transmitter , but that`s to conserve battery power ,.. so Why on that Git. cable ??

Beal, Mogami cables has this setup, there is a spring loaded collar on the instrument end that closes the circut when fully inserted into the guitar. I've had mine for over a year, works well, no issues but a bit pricey.

It's so that when I plug it in I can play a little and then switch to another guitar with out having to turn the vol to 0 or switch the amp to stand by and then back on.
Just being lazy.
Also want to be able to go from one guitar to another quickly, helps in the A/B tests.
Also it would be good to have a cord or two at the Frisky Mermaid for Singer/songwriter night, the less that the board gets touched, the better.
So, that's why.

I have a planet waves also that works well.

I like the Mogami setup better cause it is automatic without requiring the button to be pushed on or off.

I have the Planet Waves too. Always takes about 10 minutes of the sound guy fussing before I realize the thing is off instead of on.

Course... I don't say anything 'cept "Hey! It just started working!"

I bought mine for the same reason as Beal, but then figured it was easier to simply deactivate the signal through the mute switch on the tuner pedal. If the guitar is in the stand, even for a short five minute break, it remains unplugged.
